In Spring every stone wall along Irish country roads sports clusters of glorious primroses, peeking out between stones or enjoying the sunshine at the top. Here a luscious clump of flowers, surrounded by a rosette of leaves sits atop the stones which also support moss and ferns. Watercolour on deckle torn cotton paper (33 × 22 cm), framed in a limed wooden frame with outside dimensions of 47 × 35 × 4 cm.
